親知らず
歯医者で親知らずを抜いてもらいました。ぼくの親知らずは上の左右にだけあり、上は子供の頃から生えそろっているのに、下は左右共に無いというケースだったようです。噛み合わせが成立していない上に虫歯の原因になりやすいので、虫歯治療のついで抜いてしまおうということになりました。親知らずを抜くというとあまり良くない噂が多いもので、多少調べてみました。
●下の親知らずの方が、麻酔も効きにくく、抜いた後はれたり痛むケースが多い。
●親知らずの生え方が真っ直ぐでないほど、また生えている量が少ないほど、治療は困難。
●抜いた後で、一週間近く痛んだり腫れたりすることもあるが、実はそうしたケースは稀。
というわけで、しっかりと生えていた上の親知らずを抜くというぼくの場合は幸運なケースだと言えます。抜くのはあっという間だったし、麻酔が切れた後もほとんど痛くありませんでした。よかったよかった。とはいえ、歯を抜く瞬間の感触と頭に響く音は、思い出したくありません。
